Before launching its product, Deblock had already secured €12M in funding and had 26 employees. As a result of this success, Deblock had to develop itself on the EU market, and France was their top-choice. First and foremost, it meant being approved by the ACPR (Banque de France) which supervises the bank and insurance sector. Then, they had to find offices to settle in.
Deblock’s main goal was to have a flexible solution as well as an accessible location. After exploring options in Paris, Lille quickly became their top choice due to several reasons:
Deblock needed to be able to use the Eurostar for their team in London to come to Lille. The Region was the obvious choice for them by being the closest European continental neighbour to the UK.
